It is likely that FAR will have two runners this week with LORD GEORGE entered in the 2m (1m7f169y) Betway All-Weather Marathon Championships Conditions Stakes (Class 2) (4yo+).  It would be fun for the Bend Or partnership if he did run.  Our only concern is that he enjoys Newcastle and Kempton and Lingfield is a very different ours.  He has a lovely long stride that he loves to use which might not be quite so easy at Lingfield.  He worked nicely on Saturday with Higher Power and Bombyx on Waterhall.

The plan has been to run EXCELLERATION in The Racing UK Profits Returned To Racing Novice Stakes Cl4 (3yo+) 7f for several weeks.  We like this gelding who is a half brother to Aiden O’Briens Gp2 winner Painted Cliffs.  He had an allergy last year which he is now over but we were not able to kick on with him until he was over it.  He is quite a baby and he is only going to improve with time.

On Saturday (24th March) we worked on Waterhalll for the first time this year.  Michael Stoutes and Godolphins workers came up just before us.  I thought ours went very well as for most of them it was their first bit of the year.  FRED ARCHER RACING had three horses working, LORD GEORGE, THE PINTO KID and SPANISH ARCHER.  THE PINTO KID led PEGASUS KID and SPANISH ARCHER and looked to be going jolly well.  He is only small and PEGASUS KID is quite a big boy.  SPANISH ARCHER just sat in behind.

Second lot PTARMIGAN RIDGE worked with THE TIN MAN’S half sister INDIAN TIGRESS and both were going very nicely.

All the older FAR horses seem in good form and looming up for faster work.  We are thrilled with our two two year old fillies EXCELLED & ARCHER’S DREAM.  At the moment EXCELLED looks the earlier of the two.  ARCHERS DREAM was bought at The December Sales so has been  couple of months behind EXCELLED but she is catching up quickly and we are delighted with both of them.
