THE TIN MAN will not be declared for The Duke of York Stakes this week and will instead go for The Leisure Stakes at Windsor next Monday. He was entered in The Duke of York as a precaution but it has always been the plan to send him to Windsor.
We were a little worried after his unfortunate trip to Hong Kong last December we may not get him back but he seems in cracking form and very happy with himself. His everyday work has been the same as always and he has had four pieces of work up The Limekilns and is now ready to go.
He won the Leisure Stakes two years ago when the ground was good and hopefully he will get the same conditions next week. He has run some very good races on soft ground but he is better on good.
The hope is to get him back to Royal Ascot and The Diamond Jubilee Stakes. He was not entered in the July Stakes as James always said Newmarket would not be his course and we relented and ran him after his Ascot win last year and James was proved right. We are leaving well alone in 2018.
