S2015 Society Rock Colt HeadOCIETY PRINCE was the first two year old runner for Fred Archer Racing and he did not let us down just getting pipped for third place to finish fourth.  At one point he looked as if he might win but just got tired in the final furlong.  He is not very big but is the spitting image of his Dad SOCIETY ROCK who is sadly no longer with us. His father was not a very good mover and this fellas is the same but he has a big heart and tries hard.  Unfortunately we had to geld him as he was getting a bit above himself and became a little to keen on the young ladies but he is now totally focused on his racing.  It was very exciting for his owners in the Melton Syndicate who had an excellent day at Yarmouth.

MAGICAL DREAMER ran on the same day and is so consistent running second for the third time.  She just keeps finding one to good for her this time is was a Mark Johnstone colt.  Unfortunately she returned home with a bruised foot but we hope she will be okay to run at Newmarket in a couple of weeks time but having a holiday.  Since her first race of the season when she ran a little fresh she has run her very best every time.  Hopefully she will have a nice holiday and return better and stronger for next season.  She does not mind very soft ground that some others may not like but she does not have to have it.  She should be fun for next year.

We were all very disappointed with LORD GEORGE’S run in the Mallard at Doncaster.  It was probably not a great idea running him on soft ground as he has never run well on it but he seemed in such good form at home we took a chance.  I would think that the likelihood is he will run on the all weather in his next race as we are not going to get any good to firm or firm ground at this time of year now.

We are very happy with THE TIN MAN who is on course for his third shot at The Qipco Sprint.  He came out of the Haydock Sprint in cracking form and looks very well still.  PTARMIGAN RIDGE should get his ground now and we will be looking for a 7f race for him next time.  THE PINTO KID is coming along and will be the next two year old on the track.  We have taken a pull with SPANISH ARCHER as he was just telling us he was not ready to kick on quite yet but having had an easy time is begining to bounce back.  EXCELLERATION had to have six weeks on the walker and is now having four weeks trotting.  We are looking forward to him cantering in a couple of weeks time.
