Having finished second twice and third twice PTARMIGAN RIDGE won his fifth race in style.  It was his first race over seven furlongs and soft ground which he relished.  He beat the second a length and a quarter but the third seventeen and a quarter lengths.

He is a charming horse by Kyllachy who hasn’t always been the easiest to train but as he gets older he is begining to get over his problems.  A very kind horse who does everything he can to please.  We had his half brother DONT STARE and half sister FLORISS here before him and both had a lot of ability.

I think he and Dan Muscutt gave each other a fantastic ride and it would have been a huge confidence boost for PTARMIGAN RIDGE.  He will now go away for a couple of months holiday and comeback stronger and better than ever.

His yearling half sister by Nathaniel made 100,000gns yesterday for Guy & Karen Gredley who also have a share in PTARMIGAN RIDGE.  It was sad that he didnt win his race before she went through the ring but I dont think it would have made much difference to her price.

FRED ARCHER RACING have had thirty runners this year with six horses and been placed in twenty four of them.
