MAGICAL DREAMER ran her best race yet albeit in defeat.  She finished second in The British EBF Breeders’ Fillies Series Sprint Handicap just getting beaten a head.  Unfortunately some of her partners and I were standing at the wrong angle and thought she had won so it was a big disappointment when it was announced number 6 had won.  Any way it was a tremendous run from her and she is going to stay in training next year.  She was always very hormonal but has got much better and has only ever run one bad race which was her first run this season at Doncaster.  She has finished second in her last four races beaten each time by an older horse.  She is off on her winter holiday now and hopefully will return stronger.

The Fred Archer Racing – Melton Syndicate have SOCIETY PRINCE running today and the Fred Archer Racing – Energy have PTARMIGAN RIDGE running at Leicester tomorrow.  Both seem in good form.

SOCIETY PRINCE had his first race at Yarmouth three weeks ago and ran an excellent first race finishing fourth.  He got tired on the very soft ground but should enjoy the all weather surface at Kempton.  he doesn’t have a great draw in stall 10 of 10.  He is such a bonny little horse and just like his Dad.  Bill who looked after SOCIETY ROCK is looking after him and he says it is just like having the old boy back.  Fingers crossed for a nice run.

PTARMIGAN RIDGE who has been placed second twice and third twice is running at Leicester tomorrow.  I hope the ground stays soft because the softer the better for him.  He is a charming horse and looking more and more like a racehorse the whole time.  He does lots of swimming and is star swimmer.  His yearling sister by Nathaniel comes up at Tattersalls yearling sales this morning.

All our other horses are well.  THE TIN MAN worked on the Trial Ground on The Limekilns on Saturday and went nicely.  Tom Queally rode him and was very happy with him.  It was pretty dark but we were still able to see him.  LORD GEORGE looks fantastic.  the only race we can find for him is a mile and a half at Wolverhampton which he is likely to go for.  It looks as if we are going to have to keep him to the all weather or good to firm ground on the turf.  He does not like any ground that has soft in the description.  MASTER ARCHER is also looking good but we are struggling to find a race for him at the moment.  We are looking to send him away for a nice break as he still has a lot of maturing and strengthening up to do.

THE PINTO KID is looming up for a race.  EXCELLERATION has been gelded and is trotting until the end of the  month.  SPANISH ARCHER is doing two canters most days.

Our new filly Exceed And Excel ex Elle Woods has had a saddle on her and is likely to be ridden this week.  She has a lovely temperament and so willing.  We are delighted with her.
