LORD GEORGE is no longer in training and has found a lovely new home in Cheshire. He spent a little time at The British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre. Although he has a new home the BTRC own him for the rest of his life and will make sure that he is well looked after for evermore and will have him back if there is any problem. I know he will be safe as the lady that has him has had a horse from the Retraining Centre before.
LORD GEORGE gave us many years of fun and the highlight was when he was beaten a nose in The Marathon on All Weather Championships on good Friday. He ran twenty eight times and won four, second three times and third five times. He had a lovely character and was greatly loved. He was very good looking and had quite an air about him and I am sure he would do well in the show ring.
Anthony Stroud, the bloodstock agent, bought LORD GEORGE at the Arqana Yearling Sales at Deauville in October 2014. He looked a very backward type and initially we thought we would be lucky to get him on the track as a two year old. He proved us all wrong and thrived with work and had his first run on 11th September at Salisbury. He had his second run at Wolverhampton where he won.
He has won four races and run some excellent races in defeat. He was only beaten a length and a half in The 2017 Northumberland Plate when finishing fourth. He has often come cruising in the final furlongs in a race without winning. We felt that he had more to give and was just a little laid back so we have put a visor on him in his last two races. He won very nicely at Kempton in January and was disappointing back there in February. We are going to forget that race and focus on his next.
Possibly his best run was in defeat when second beaten a nose by Funny Kid in The Betway All-Weather Marathon Championships Conditions Stakes at the end of March.
He is a very good looking horse with a lovely way about him but very laid back on the whole. He is a fun horse and we are convince there is a nice race in him.
Official Rating: 87 (Turf) 98 (All Weather)

LORD GEORGE had looked so well since his holiday and had been travelling well in his work at home but unfortunately that didn’t transfer on to the racecourse. He ran a poor race at Salisbury on good to firm ground which he likes on the 3.9.19. We really thought he was going to run very well due to his home work. He is such a lovely horse with a great demeanour it is not nice to see him running like this.

LORD GEORGE is now on a well deserved holiday in Kent. He ran in the All Weather Marathon Championship again this year but although he had a nice position his run was a little lacklustre. He has had twenty runs and two and a half years since he was last turned out so we hope he gets some sun and lots of lovely grass before he comes back in. The handicapper dropped his All Weather rating 2lbs to 100 and his turf rating stays the same at 90.

LORD GEORGE has been retired and has been accepted for retraining at The British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre where he goes at the end of October. He has such presence and such a good looking horse I do hope someone gets him who will do some showing or dressage as he is so beautiful. He is also very kind and everyone here loves him and will miss him when he goes.
