FAR had three runners this week and they all ran extremely well and we are very happy with them. EXCELLERATION headed back to Lingfield for his second run. He had run on the all weather exactly a month before but was running on the turf this time. Last month he was one of four but this time he had sixteen in the race. He was like an old pro in the paddock and went down to the start beautifully. He got into the raced and had horses around him, something that didnt happen last time, and was doing all his best work at the finish. he much preferred the turf as he did not appreciate the kickback on the all weather. He has taken much longer than some of the horses to get his summer coat but he looked well in the paddock but will look even better next time.
We could not have been more happy with SPANISH ARCHER at Nottingham having his first race. He was running against winners. He has been a bit quirky in the past and we have taken our time with him which hopefully looks as if it might have paid off. He behaved incredibly well and did absolutely everything right. He had a horse that fell right in front of him which could have unnerved him but it didnt seem to. He ran through horses and was doing all his best work in the final couple of furlongs and ran on to finish fourth. The winner had finished second in his first race at Newmarket and the second and third had both won. It was an exciting first race and we were just as impressed with the way he behaved on the day as we were on his finishing position.
MASTER ARCHER is nothing but consistent having now finished seven times consecutively second. He always seems to come up against an improving horse. Everyone who rides him says that he is genuine but just very unlucky. I think he stays for ever and just doesnt have the turn of foot some of the others have. We have a couple of races in our mind for him.
MAGICAL DREAMER has getting an entry at the end of the week at Ripon but she may just need another week. I am looking forward to running her.
We have had an accident with poor SOCIETY PRINCE when the horse behind him in an everyday canter struck into him. He is down at the vets and will have at least three weeks there and then will need some time to recuperate. All the other horses seem in excellent form THE PINTO KID looks as if he has improved a lot for his race. The winner of his race at Beverley, Shakour, was fourth in The Dee Stakes at Chester this week and just. PTARMIGAN RIDGE looks good and will be going for a seven furlong race next time. LORD GEORGE is heading to The Northumberland Plate again and might not get a race beforehand. He will run again in about two weeks.
THE TIN MAN is heading to Windsor next Monday for The Leisure Stakes.
We have a two year old filly called EXCELLED who has just started working and will run in about three weeks time. ARCHERS DREAM is a bit more backward and is doing her everyday work nicely and is growing at the moment.
