MAGICAL DREAMER redeemed herself at Leicester on Tuesday when winning her first handicap.  She now has two wins from four runs under her belt.  We always knew that she had ability but trying to work out why she is so mareish has been a problem in itself.  It now transpires that in actual fact it is just her character.  At Doncaster she was particularly bad and she was not very popular with the stalls handlers that day as she soaked them when they were trying to get her into the stalls.  Since then we have tried her in a hood which has helped hugely and it was a fillies only race on Tuesday which also possibly helped a bit.

Everything seemed to drop into place at Leicester except that we were going to hold her up but she pinged the stalls and Dan Muscutt had to take the decision not to pull her back and instead go and make it which she seemed to enjoy.  Her tail was still going round a million miles an hour.  She made all and won quite nicely.  Hopefully this will fill her with confidence and she will think that racing is so bad after all.

She is a lovely looking filly now having been quite a small yearling.  One day she will make a lovely broodmare and being by Acclamation out of an Indian Ridge mare should also help her.

THE TIN MAN went up a gear on Saturday when he worked nicely on The Limekilns.  It is his first bit since before The Duke of York.  It was so good to see him on the grass rather than the Al Bahathri as it is much easier to judge how he is.  Most horses can look good on the Al Bahathri as it is not such hard work.

LORD GEORGE is on track for a crack at The Northumberland Plate if he is lucky enough to get in.  I think he needs about twenty to come out. If he doesnt get into the main race he will go for the alternative for horses who missed out.  He looks in terrific form but he will be going four furlongs further than he has before.  He is so laid back this year so will give himself every chance.

PTARMIGAN RIDGE & MASTER ARCHER both look great and will be waiting for some softer ground.

All the two year olds are quietly coming along. SOCIETY PRINCE has caught up nicely after his little set back and is moving well.  THE PINTO KID, SPANISH ARCHER and EXCELLERATION are all doing two nice canters.

We wont have much action next week with The Fred Archer horses but all the hroses seem in excellent form.  CAPE TO CUBA so nearly won at Doncaster last night in her second ever race.  She had run at Kempton first time out and was a little bit disappointing but put that behind her last night and surprised us all but how well she travelled.  i think she enjoyed the rain soaked ground.
