Today is a big day for the Fred Archer Racing – Ormonde Partners when we get THE TIN MAN back on course for the first time in 2018.  We started him off in The Listed Leisure Stakes at Windsor two years ago, which he won, and thats where we are heading back to today.  He had a bad trip to Hong Kong in December and had to have until February off and then an easy time for six weeks until we were able to kick on with him.  He has had an un-interrupted preparation since then but the main thing today is for him to go our and run a nice race.  Nearly all his partners are going to be there tonight so THE TIN MAN will be well represented as we will have wives and children also.  More pressure!!!

He has done some nice work on the Limekilns recently and Tom Queally has been to ride him several times.  He had a little blow up Warren Hill on Saturday.

MAGICAL DREAMER ran a great race at Ripon yesterday.  she hated the course with its undulations and got very unbalanced but was still able to finish second with the third horse three and a quarter lengths behind.  She has done extremely well over the winter and looks a lot stronger this year.  She has also grown up mentally and is not nearly as hormonal as she was as a two and three year old.  give her due though she very rarely has run a bad race.  I can only remember one which was her first one of the year in 2017 at Doncaster when she was probably not quite ready so we cant blame her.

LORD GEORGE is heading to The Northumberland Plate again and we may not get a run in beforehand.  He had an easy time after his close second in the All Weather Marathon Championship.

We are trying everything to get a one by MASTER ARCHERS name after seven consecutive seconds.  He just gets done by a well handicapped horse everytime.  The ground has gone against PTARMIGAN RIDGE we may have to resort to the all weather but has never done particularly well on it in the past.  His race over six furlongs at Doncaster has turned out to be a pretty good one after the second horse George Bowen went on to win a Handicap at York last week by six lengths.

Society Prince at The Newmarket Equine Hospital

SOCIETY PRINCE has been in the Newmarket Equine Hospital for two weeks now and is getting the best of attention.  He was struck into and had to be taken to the hospital and he had to have a general anaesthetic and a cast put onto his near hind leg.  the vets are very happy with his progress and is walking with his cast on and seems to be taking it all in his stride.  We wont know what the next stage is until they take the cast off and to see how the injury has repaired but hopefully he will be able to start on the walker.  The only plus is that he has done particularly well and is having the time to mature and strengthen.  He did look really well when I saw him this day last week and was putting on weight and looking stronger.  I look forward to going to see him over the next few days.

EXCELLERATION and SPANISH ARCHER have both done well since their races.  It was EXCELLERATION’S second race and he is really growing up all the time now.  He has settled down and filling out all the time now.  I am looking forward to him having his third run which will be anytime now.  SPANISH ARCHER has been quite quirky in the past and the race could have made him even more so but he has taken it in his stride and he is now ready for another race anytime.  THE PINTO KID is also ready for another race and there is one mapped out for him on May 31st.

Fred Archer Racing has two two year old fillies.  EXCELLED is by Exceed & Excel and has now done three pieces of work and looks as if she will be on the racecourse within the the next three weeks.  ARCHER’S DREAM is not as forward and we are taking our time with her but she is from a lovely family, some of who James has trained in the past including her dam BADR AL BADOOR who is a half sister to Profitable.  She is going through a growing spate at the moment.
