This is the first post of 2018. Our first runner of the year will be LORD GEORGE in the two mile handicap at Kempton on Saturday evening. He is top weight with 10stone and has nine opponents. He seems in good form and looks great but for the first time he will be wearing a visor to help him concentrate. He has run a lot of excellent races in 2017 against some very good horses but we feel he just loses concentration in the final furlong.
MASTER ARCHER made one very bad blunder in his first try at hurdling which rather knocked him for six but for that he jumped very well. He is having another school tomorrow when Leighton Aspell will come and sit on him again. We wont be running him on this bottomless ground we have at the moment.
Our three horses that were still on holiday at Moppy Peates in Kent arrived back yesterday. They look great and I am looking forward to this season with them all. They will all have to have a clip over the next few days as they have grown their winter coats. SPANISH ARCHER arrived back before Christmas and he also looks extremely well and has done well for the break.
THE TIN MAN is doing nothing at the moment other than some time on the walker and he will not be doing anything until sometime in February. He needs plenty of time to get over his sickness in Hong Kong. He is very happy which is what we what want to see. His rider Tom Fanshawe is doing well in Australia and working hard.
